### **Gold Prices Fall Again in Bangladesh, Down Tk 4,374 in Two Days**

Gold prices in Bangladesh dropped again on Tuesday, marking the second consecutive day of decline. The price of 22-carat gold—the highest-quality gold in the local market—was reduced by **Tk 2,158 per bhori (11.664 grams)**.

On Monday, the price of 22-carat gold had already fallen by **Tk 2,216 per bhori**. As a result, the total decline over the past two days stands at **Tk 4,374 per bhori**.

The new prices came into effect at **10:00 AM on Tuesday**, according to a press release issued by the **Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS)**. The association attributed the latest price adjustment to a decline in the domestic prices of **pure gold and silver**.

### **Updated Gold Prices**

Under the revised rates:

* **22-carat gold:** Tk **219,808** per bhori

* **21-carat gold:** Tk **209,894** per bhori

* **18-carat gold:** Tk **180,267** per bhori

* **Traditional-method gold:** Tk **147,316** per bhori

Before Tuesday's adjustment, the prices were:

* **22-carat gold:** Tk **221,966** per bhori

* **21-carat gold:** Tk **211,993** per bhori

* **18-carat gold:** Tk **182,075** per bhori

* **Traditional-method gold:** Tk **148,774** per bhori

### **Global Gold Market**

According to **GoldPrice.org**, the international gold price **rose by US$23 per ounce** on Tuesday. However, over the past month, gold prices have declined by **US$331 per ounce**, prompting BAJUS to continue adjusting domestic prices in line with market trends.

### **VAT on Gold Jewellery**

Since VAT is already included in the gold price, customers will **not be charged VAT separately** when purchasing gold jewellery.

Under Bangladesh's **FY2026–27 national budget**, the VAT structure on gold jewellery has been revised. Instead of the previous **5% VAT on the total value**, a **fixed VAT of Tk 2,500 per bhori** has been introduced.

### **Silver Prices Remain Unchanged**

Meanwhile, silver prices remain unchanged. The current prices are:

* **22-carat silver:** Tk **4,607** per bhori

* **21-carat silver:** Tk **4,374** per bhori

* **18-carat silver:** Tk **3,790** per bhori

* **Traditional-method silver:** Tk **2,857** per bhori
